Gamer’s Perspective of the Future

Listen to Gamer’s Perspective of the Future by Ty.

As a person who intends to pursue a career in gaming, I want to know what the future holds for the industry. While the Metaverse and immersive experiences expands the horizon, the possibilities are endless. With ingenuity and creativity reaching a new peak, what will gaming become? The question I have is how these technological advances improve gaming and continue to challenge gamers.

The gaming industry has come a long way since its inception and it is showing no signs of slowing down. With advancements in technology like Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR), the future of gaming looks incredibly bright. These technologies can allow gamers to fully immerse themselves in their favorite games, making the experience even more enjoyable.

However, there is a rise in mobile gaming, console gaming, and PC gaming. Gamers are no longer seen as a negative thing with us becoming more technologically advanced. Now we can play almost anywhere, at any time with the massive community that we have developed. This accessibility means that gaming can become more inclusive and widespread than ever before. In addition, the growth of Esports has also brought about new opportunities for professional gamers to make a career out of doing what they love. The future of the gaming industry is exciting and as a gamer myself, I cannot wait to see how it will continue to evolve and provide even better experiences for players around the world.

Our theme of Future plays a big connection, because as a young person we all began to explore and reach new stages in our lives that sometimes brings stress or relief. I am someone that sees technology being an important future in my life, as I would like to pursue a career in STEM. This is a perfect fit for me due to the gaming industry that plays a role in many people’s lives.

Our first guest will be my friend Jamari Christmas (17.) We attended the school Urban Prep for four years together, and as of now we are soon to be graduating seniors. He is a close friend and some may even say that we are brothers. I usually play games with Jamari, but he recently quit gaming. So I wanted to ask him what influenced that decision, and how he feels about the industry currently. (Fun fact about Jamari: he could have gone pro with his gaming career!) He will be sharing with us what his experience was like and what he has personally seen. Who better to be my first guest?

Next is my father, Tyrone Rodgers (38.) He is my biggest influencer and the reason as of now why I pursue the career of gaming. He has always been at my side throughout whatever it may be. He teaches me new games and even what it was like in the past. He will discuss with us the differences, what it was like to be a gamer, and how it has affected him today.

Finally, Robert Johnson, Director of Investments and Strategies at 2K, gives his insight. I see him as a mentor for myself and a role-model in my career field. As the expert, he will be sharing how and what it is like to be in that career field as both a gamer  and employee.
